Breaking the Mould : Grain Quality Report 2011

Adesco today launched highlights of their 2011 Grain Quality Report. Key highlights from the report include:

• • 88 samples taken from 30 grain stores
• • Aerated Grain mould count at 82,409 CFU/g
• • Treated Grain mould count at 617 CFU/g

According to Michael McDonagh, Adesco’s commercial director, the results showed high levels of mould in green untreated grain samples. The results also showed the potential for mould growth in grain which was stored in open yards for long periods before processing and storage.
